MIXED DOUBLES CHAMPIONSHIP
Mixed Doubles is a curling game with teams of two players, one male and one female. Teams throw six stones with one of those stones pre-positioned on the centerline at the beginning of each end. Player one delivers the first and last stones and player two plays the second, third and fourth stones. If they choose to, players may swap positions from one end to the next. Sweeping can be done by both players. Games are eight ends. The National championship leads to World competition.
USA Curling conducts this event.
FIVE and UNDER CHAMPIONSHIP
Begun in 2021, the 5-and-Under Regional (State) and National Championships are competitions for players who have up to and no more than five years of curling experience. The 5-and-Under is open to players with every level of ability, including (but not limited to) stick and wheelchair curlers.
USA Curling conducts this event.
WHEELCHAIR MIXED DOUBLES
Wheelchair curlers throw their stones with the use of a delivery stick: a long pole that loops around the handle of the stone. There is no sweeping. In the well-known curling spirit of camaraderie, when throwing, a player’s opponent braces the wheel of the throwing player, holding the right wheel of their chair against any backwards moment from their throw. There are also volunteers who can stand behind players to brace the chair.
USA Curling conducts this event.
WOMEN’S GOPHER STATE BONSPIEL
Since 1969, the Gopher State Women’s Curling Association has been promoting the game and the spirit of curling throughout the state of Minnesota with its annual, traveling, competitive yet social, bonspiel. Proceeds from this bonspiel are “recycled” to keep the following year’s bonspiel affordable to all, and have contributed to Minnesota Junior Curling and a summertime golf tournament. Four events are awarded with traveling trophies.

MEN’S SENIOR STATE BONSPIEL
This traveling bonspiel invites Minnesota men curlers to a weekend of camaraderie and competition. Curlers can enter one of three divisions: Seniors -those over age 50; and Super Seniors – wherein all team members are over 65 years of age, and Masters – those aged 70 and older. The number of entries determines round robin or bracket play. The MCA awards the winning pins.
